How to Get an Invoice from AliExpress

Usually, buying from an online store looks like this: you order an item, pay for it and get the receipt and the order’s details to your email. Awaiting for a receipt from AliExpress? Then we will disappoint you – AliExpress doesn’t send invoices or receipts. You only get an email confirmation when the order is made, paid for, shipped, etc.

Regular AliExpress customers don’t actually need order invoices. They are mainly necessary for small businesses that deal with dropshipping from AliExpress. In case you order a lot, you might need supportive papers for administrative purposes or to have your name on the orders’ details.

You may also need to request an invoice for the customs in case they have some doubts and you have to prove the cost of the product, as, in most countries, there are limits on the parcel’s cost, weight, and size. In case you exceed them, you will be asked to pay VAT and /or some extra taxes.

If asked to prove the cost of the goods, generate an invoice containing the actual cost of the product and contact the customs officer or the post-office (depending on the country) to solve the issue. Don’t forget to make an account statement to show that the sum in the invoice coincides with the one you actually paid for the order.

How to Get Order Invoice on AliExpress

There are 2 ways to get an invoice from AliExpress. Ask the store for the invoice or install a program/extension for generating invoices on your device. We need to say that there are few chances the store sends you an invoice, as they deal with shipping papers only. There’s also no option of making an invoice on AliExpress, as this is the seller who carries all responsibility, so the Alibaba Group doesn’t provide payment receipts or invoices.

So let’s proceed to the second variant.  Search on Google using “invoice from AliExpress” for a program or extension that generates order invoices on AliExpress. When choosing one, make sure it supports the necessary formats (i.e. the invoice. pdf template, .docx, etc.). Most solutions are browser extensions. Among the most popular extensions is Ali Invoice. Find the extension on the Chrome Store and add it to your browser. Use the extension’s drop-down menu to quickly access your orders’ page on AliExpress. When active, the extension will show you 3 signs: one on the extensions’ bar and 2 on the orders’ page.

Choose the order you need to get an invoice for and press “Ali Invoice free”. You will be redirected to the page with the invoice.

The seller’s details and the shipping information are not filled in. So press “options page” and fill in the necessary details on the page that opens.

After that, you can download and print your invoice. Press the green button “Print” in the top left corner of the invoice and print the papers or save the invoice as pdf. That easy!
