A Chinese company Rokid that manufactures AR products presented innovative glasses that can distantly measure the temperatures of the live beings nearby.
The Rokid startup with the headquarters in Hangzhou announced this solution as an answer to the world pandemic of COVID-19. 1,000 pairs of glasses have already been sold and more are being produced to meet the demands of governmental and public institutions.
The device can provide both fixed and distant temperature check. Rokid Vice President Xiang Wenjie sees this product as a modern tool for instant temperature checks that would be really useful during the COVID outbreak. The glasses can be used to measure temperatures under any circumstances though.
T1 glasses were created within 2 weeks only. They are equipped with a camera and an infrared sensor. The readings are displayed right on the lenses in the infrared view mode. The alarm sound is on if the temperature of the person is above 37°. The glasses are already used for temperature screening at the Hangzhou’s Wetland Park:
Contactless temperature measurement turns out to be more effective in crowded areas, so more and more Chinese companies start using such devices. The glasses perfectly suit security officers.
As some new cases of COVID were reported several days ago, smart fever detection solutions are a must for many industries. Thus, modern face recognition systems by SenseTime are widely used in Chinese railways stations.
