What is Cyber Monday?
If you don’t know what Cyber Monday is about, here’s a short explanation. The term “Cyber Monday” was for the first time used in 2005 by the National Retail Federation’s division Shop.org to refer to the Monday immediately following Thanksgiving and Black Friday, which is on the day after Thanksgiving.
Cyber Monday is also called Black Monday. This shopping event with best offers mainly on electronics and computers. In 1950s retailers noticed that many office workers who missed a chance to buy on the Black Friday sale made purchases on Monday when they came to work and started to make discount offers on this day to attract more customers. Within last years the whole week starting with Cyber Monday became the period of intense shopping and is called the Black Week.
In some countries, such as Russia and other ones being a part of the CIS Cyber Monday is in January, as main holidays here are on February, the 23rd and March the 8th, and people buy a lot of gifts before them.
