If you buy from Shein, you might have seen their project bearing the name SHEIN X. Shein not only creates and manufactures numerous products in China but also works with young designers from all over the world. Every month Shein chooses 30 promising designers and gives them a chance to prove themselves: any young talent with brilliant ideas can be invited.
This June, young designers from Arab States got a chance to create new products for the world-famous brand.
Arwa Al was one of them. She got a bachelor’s degree in design and digital media and launched her own mini brand last year when being in quarantine. She sent several of her prints to Shein. Shein manufactured T-shirts with her prints and added them to their catalog, so now they can be bought in any country Shein ships to.
Besides profit from the sales, each designer participating in the Shein X contest can compete for a cash prize – $10,000. The collections of the winners will also be shown at the Fashion Week (no further details on it for now).
Right now, you can vote for the works of the semi-finalists that will compete for the prize later in the year. We also strongly recommend you to have a look at the SHEIN X project edition from June: you will find bright, colorful products with their unique style. Limited editions only!
This initiative is a big step with collaboration with brads rather than mass-market manufacturing. This can add spice to Shein and help the customers get really unique products at very reasonable prices!
